Aboriginal support program

Copy of We hope this helps fill your cup

Helping Little Hands collaborated with the Aboriginal Liaison Officer (ALO) and social work team at King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH) to support Aboriginal families during their babies stay in the NICU.

The Telethon-funded program supports families after they graduate from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to attend follow-up clinics.

Fuel and food support is provided during the NICU stay. During follow-up, support packages include fuel vouchers, a cafe voucher and Dinner's (almost) Ready hamper.

Families can connect with the ALO or social work team through a dedicated phone line.

In line with providing culturally appropriate services, Helping Little Hands acknowledges the importance of the Nyoongar seasons.
